Things are starting to crank up at SIGGRAPH today. The show floor was not open so we took in the Art Galleries and Emerging Technology exhibits. The coolest thing was some kind of magnetized liquid that could climb up inclines and make itself prickly. Eric Deren and Matt Lind met up with us for lunch. It was good to catch up and chat. In the afternoon was the Autodesk User Group which was excessively long. The work was really good that they showed. None of the tools blew me away. They had a group that made music with trash cans that was fun. After the Autodesk thing we wandered around and ended up at a Shabu Shabu Japanese restaraunt. It ended up being a experience even though we had no idea what we were doing. Tomorrow the show floor opens so it will be hectic.
You need to visit Higgins
Jul 30th
Higgins Armory Museum is the place to go. The town it is in doesn’t have much going for it though. Chris’ sister and her boyfriend drove a long way to pick us up at the train station and cart us around all day. We had a good time with them and then got some dinner with Jamie and Noah from INSP. Tomorrow we will be at the conference center starting to get things rolling.
I’m here…
Jul 30th
We got here last night late. It was not obvious until we got to the station, that the Back Bay subway station is not really the closest to our hotel, The Hiltonunced Boston Back Bay. We are off to a medieval arms museum in Worcester (pronounced “Worster”).

I leave on Saturday for Boston. I will be attending my 4th SIGGRAPH Conference. I’ll be doing my best to write daily blogs about my experiences there.
